Canned Goods........Old Fashioned goodness........
We offer a very unique "line up" of Home Canned Goods. Our product is unique in the fact that it is processed in our on-site kitchen, and is made with locally grown produce and fruit! Our goods contain no artificial color, preservatives or "flavor enhancers". Our processing facility is licensed and inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture, and we process all of our goods to USDA / FDA standards. A majority of the vegetables that are used are produced on site, with the balance being sourced from other local growers that we have had a working relationship with over the years.
NO WHITE SUGAR!!!..........and NO FLASHY labeling.........
We are sure that you have seen what appears to be "home canned" goods at other markets similar to ours. That is just it, an appearance. They have been made in "food factories", and they do not contain "local" goods. Most also contain high fructose corn syrup and artificial preservatives.
We DO NOT use any form of high fructose corn syrup in any of our goods, and also discontinued use of "white sugar" 8 years ago. All of our "sweetened goods" are made with "organic Cane crystals" sourced from a grower co-op in Texas.
You will notice that our labeling is quite "plain". Our goods are labeled to "MDA standard". We would rather put the "goodness in the jar" rather that an over priced "flashy label".
Most of our processing goes on year-round. Except for items that need to be processed "fresh". During times of "peak harvest", we will prepare the fruit and veggies, and freeze them so that we can process canned items during times of the year that are not quite as busy. The kitchen is usually "steaming".
