Jersey Giant Asparagus Crowns
Produced by the best asparagus grower in our area. Jerysey Giant is an all male hybrid that produces no seed. Thus, all of the plants strength is put into "spear" production for huge yields. Our crowns are grown on fumigated soil, and inspected by the Michigan Department of Agriculture.
Jersey Giant is one of the best producers of premium spears. Asparagus is a "long lived" perennial plant that needs to be planted in a full sun area. Medium to lighter soils are best for planting, however it will also perform on heavier clay loams. We offer prices better than the seed catalogs, as we are the producer. In most years we start shipping our crowns around the 1st of April. However, this date may be earlier or later depending on the weather here in central Michigan. We DO NOT "Fall-dig" our roots and store them. They are dug in the spring and shipped to you.
